Privacy
Zeni is a small, free game. We collect as little as we can, and we never ask for your email, a password or your real name.
What we keep
- Your player. The nickname you chose, your rating and win/loss record, and a scrambled (hashed) copy of your player code. We can't read your code and we can't recover it. If you lose it, that player is gone.
- Online games. Who played, the score, how it ended and when. This is how ratings and the leaderboard work. Your nickname, rating and place on the leaderboard are public.
- Feedback you send. Your message, the reply address if you typed one, your nickname if you were signed in, the app version and your browser's type. Don't put anything in a message that you wouldn't want us to read.
- Crash reports. When the app hits an error it may send the error text, which screen you were on, the app version and your browser's type. No names.
- Anonymous counts. Numbers like "how many times was the app opened today" and "how many players were active". They are totals with no identifier attached.
What we don't
- No email addresses, passwords, phone numbers or locations.
- No advertising, no trackers, no analytics scripts from other companies, and no cookies.
- We don't link your games to your device or browsing. Your internet address is used only for a short-lived limit on how fast one address can sign up or send messages (so the game can't be flooded), and those counters are deleted by a daily cleanup.
On your device
Zeni stores your player code and your settings (sound, computer level, table) in your browser's local storage so you stay signed in. The installed app also keeps a copy of itself so it can run offline. Clearing your browser's data for this site signs you out; you can get back in with your player code.
Deleting your player
In the app, open Settings and choose Delete my player. That removes your nickname, rating and code from our server straight away. Games you played stay in the totals so other players' records still add up, but your name is removed from them, and any feedback you sent is kept without your name attached.
Who runs this
Zeni runs on Cloudflare, which handles the traffic and stores the data. Cloudflare may keep basic technical logs as described in its own policy. For any privacy question, or to ask us to delete something we can't remove from inside the app, use Send feedback on the home screen.
